Prayer/Pooja

Swamis performing Ayyappa Pooja. I love the fire in this picture. This is the last stage of the Pooja/Prayer when Camphor/Karpoorm is placed on the floor in front of God and all the Swamis are seen clapping and praying at the same time.

Holiday in Kerala – 1 (A House boat)

Boat House in the Back Waters of Kerala

One of my most memorable trips was to Kerala on the ocassion of our second wedding anniversary 🙂 I simply loved it there. We started off at Cochin….then went to Munnar and spent our final day in Alleppey (Alappuzha) in a Boat House. The picture above is not the boat house we ‘lived’ in but one similar. It was a beautiful experience…the boat house travelling through tiny villages….so peaceful and serene. After a while, the only sight in front of your eyes is the unending sea and paddy fields. Truly…God’s Own Country 🙂
